The lecture shows the connection between the oral microbiome and the intestinal microbiome in horses. Both microbiomes interact closely and have a significant influence on health and the immune system. Inflammation in the mouth has a negative effect on the intestinal flora and can promote systemic problems. Dental health therefore plays a central role in the overall well-being and metabolic stability of horses.
