European Champion NCHA Non Pro:
Marco Salvatori & Highbrow Time
Of the 25 horse-rider combinations in the go-round, the eleven best made it to the final of the European Championship NCHA Non Pro. Marco Salvatori (ITA) and his Highbrow Time (High Brow CD x One Time Soon) claimed the Championship earning a 149 for their outstanding work on the cattle. Highbrow Time had already won the World Cup Cutting at AMERICANA in 2017 under Martina Annovazzo. For Marco, it was another huge success with this magnificent horse. Among other things, the pair were European Champion Non Pro at Equita Cutting 2019.
Marco Salvatori is the founder of one of Italy's best-known breeding and training facilities for cutting horses: Rosy O'Gradys Cutting Horses in Fanano near Modena. The facility is home to the stallions Stevie ReyVenge and Smart Rey Pepto and the trainers Martina Annovazzi and Petro Valeri. ‘Highbrow Time is an incredible horse,’ says Marco Salvatori. "He is the only horse I have ever ridden where I only have to concentrate on the cattle, not on the horse as well. Winning the AMERICANA with him was my big goal. We made it to the final every time, and this time we did it. I am very grateful to my two trainers, Martina and Pietro – without them and my fantastic team, we would not have been able to do it. Last but not least, a very special thank you to the organisers of the AMERICANA! Excellent organisation and good cattle right from the start!"
Reserve Champion was Rosana Bembom (NED) with the 12-year-old Smoking Spook (Smart Spook x Sweet Huntress), who came out of the arena with a score of 146. The pair had led the go round and were already Masters Cutting Non Pro Reserve Champions at this AMERICANA. Third place went to Sasha Schwind on Counting Cats, who scored 145.
