AMERICANA 2025 – now open for visitors
Today Europe’s premier westernriding event AMERICANA 2025 opened their doors for the visitors who came in huge numbers. Meanwhile top horses and riders presented themselves in the show arena.
EWU Super Horse 7 & over Go round Leader:
Jana Haug & One Soldier Army
In the EWU Super Horse Go Round 7 & Over, which attracted a strong field of 19 starters, Jana Haug and One Soldier Army (Smart Royal Off King x Lucky's Racing Rocket), owned by Viola Haug, took the lead with a confident score of 148.5. Jana has already won the EWU German Junior Western Riding and Junior Ranch Riding Championships with the 8-year-old gelding bred by the Haug family. Second place went to Annika Viecenz with her Despacito Whiz (142.5) – a pair that was 2023 Working Ranch Horse Trail Non Pro Champion at AMERICANA. Third place went to Susanne Schnell and Dunits Finest Stop, owned by Wolfgang Neuendorff (142).
ERCHA Open Bridle Spectacular – Rein Work:
Markus Schöpfer first in Open, Vera Walliser leads Ltd. Open
The next part of the competition was the Rein Work in the Open and Ltd. Open Bridle Spectacular. Markus Schöpfer on Metallics Journey (Metallic Cat x Smart Littlechet), owned by Magnus Gustafsson, came out on top with a score of 210.5. Together with his 217 from the Herd Work, he achieved a total score of 427.5, putting him in the lead in the interim rankings. The 10-year-old stallion already excelled under his owner at the 2023 AMERICANA in the Non Pro Bridle Spectacular.
Close behind with a total of 427 points is Giovanni Campanaro with Trix Aristocrat Mr (Tassas Aristocrat x GH Dual Snappin), owned by Matese Ranch, who scored 210 in the Rein Work. With this mare, Campanaro was ERCHA / NRCHA Derby Co-Reserve Champion 2022, among other titles. Samuele Polis Barberis and Cats Got Freckles (WR This Cats Smart x Playboys Girl), who scored 219 for owner Luca Terzi after an outstanding herd work, were unlucky in the rein work and only managed 207.5. This puts the pair in third place.
In the interim standings of the Limited Open, Vera Walliser (SUI) and her 9-year-old CD Fortunate Son (Metallic Cat x CDS Lucky Gal) remain at the top. The pair, who have already enjoyed considerable success (including ERCHA/NRCHA Limited Non Pro Bridle Champion 2022), scored 210 in the Rein Work, which, together with their 216 in the Herd Work, gives them a total score of 426. Stefanie Steidle and Metallic Rooster Dr scored 205.5 in the Rein Work, giving them a total of 420 and keeping them in second place. Maik Bartmann and Mr Joker Cat, a black stallion owned by Stephan Göb, came out of the arena with a score of 209, which, together with their 207.5 from the Rein Work, gave them a total of 416.5 points. This moved the pair up to third place in the interim standings.
The top score in the Rein Work was achieved by Leni Bartmann on Innucent QT, owned by Dennis Tuscher: 213.
Sarah Destefanis still ahead in the ERCHA Non Pro Bridle Spectacular
Even after the Rein Work, Sarah Destefanis (ITA) and her Hot As Wasabi (Little Dulces Rey x Whirlacat) remain at the top of the ERCHA Non Pro Bridle Spectacular. The pair scored 208.5, which together with the 219 from the Herd Work gives a total of 427.5. Eliane Seiler and CR Rosie The Riveter moved up to second place with a total score of 425. Vera Walliser (SUI) on CD Fortunate Son remains in third place with a total of 424.5 after an excellent 212.5 in the Rein Work.
ERCHA Derby Non Pro Boxing 4+5+6y - Cow Work Go-Round
Claudio Agosti takes lead in composite score
Following the cow work, the overall results for the ERCHA Derby Non Pro Go Round are now finalised. In Non Pro Boxing 4+5+6y, Claudio Agosti (ITA) on Smart Dun So Good took the lead in the overall Go Round standings with 624.5 points after a brilliant fence work that earned him 215.5 points. In second place was Niggi Vlach (SUI) on Chex Your Fancy Guns, ahead of René Driever on Olena Shines, who achieved the top score of 216.5 in this Cow Horse and now had a total of 606.5 points.
ERCHA Derby Non-Pro 4-5 Yrs RC71 + RC73 - Cow Work
Elena Ferrari (ITA) and her Spiderman Of Time (Woody Time x Spiderman By Night) were already in the lead after the Reined Work and Herd Work and, with a score of 218.5 in the Fence Work, they now also secured the lead in the overall standings of the Go rounds Non Pro and L1 Non Pro – total score: 643.
In second place in the Non Pro with a total score of 608.5 are Alessandro Tugnoli and Wild Wet Mify Cat, followed by Eliane Seiler and Cromed Magnum together with Alessandro Tugnoli and Banger Boom Smart (both 605). In the L1 Non Pro, Elenora Terzi on Thaz A Candy Gun is in second place (603), followed by Klaus Paucker and Silver Catfish (601.5).
ERCHA Hackamore Champion Open 5 & under:
Samuele Poli Barberis & Lil Gunna R Great
The ERCHA Hackamore Open 5 & under went to Samuele Poli Barberis (ITA) and Lil Gunna R Great (ARC Gunna Sparkya x Lil Ruffles R Great), owned by Ingrid Novasconi. The pair scored 221.5 in the Rein Worl and 215 in the Fence Work, giving them a total of 436.5 and the victory. With the 5-year-old mare, Samuele was Limited Open Champion at the ERCHA Spring Stakes in 2025, among other achievements.
Second place went to Patrick Sattler with Laura Mendel's Sparkin Jacolena with a score of 415, ahead of Moreno Söderlund and Secretheartofaction (409).
ERCHA Hackamore Champion Non Pro 5 & under:
Franck Duclos & Tiktok Shine
In the ERCHA Hackamore Non Pro, the title went to Franck Duclos (FRA) with Tiktok Shine. The pair scored 213 in the fence work after an outstanding run, giving them a total of 420.5 points. Second place went to Klaus Paucker and Silver Catfish (400.5), followed by Jan Luca Waitzenegger and Elta Buccaneer (387).
