AMERICANA 2021: ERCHA Futurity and Derby Open start with Rein Work Go round

With the first go in the Rein Work the ERCHA Futurity Open and the ERCHA Derby Open started today. And the demand was huge: 43 horses were entered in the Open Futurity, 20 in the Derby.

Alfons Hoefkens and Giovanni Campanaro lead in Open Futurity

The top score in the Open Futurity Rein Work was achieved by two riders: Alfons Hoefkens with the 4-year-old palomino stallion Yellow Gun WR Cowboy (Cowboy Wr San Jo x Selenas Classy Smoke) bred and owned by WR-Horses and Giovanni Campanaro aboard the 4-year-old stallion Dual Aristocrat Mr (Tassas Aristocrat x GH Dual Snappin) owned by Antonio Marmo- the score 217.5. Campagnaro was already Reserve Champion with this horse at the ERCHA / NRCHA Derby in the spring and also managed to ride ZR Remind The Cat (Cats Got Freckles x CH Miss Remi Chex) for Alessandro Coppari to 2nd place in the Go round scoring a 216.5 and Shesagenuinelypepto (Oaks Lone Pepto x Genuinely Snapper) for Loris Paone to 3rd place scoring a 215.5.

Alfons Hoefkens & Yellow Gun WR Cowboy also on top in Ltd. Open

This also was the lead in Limited Open for Alfons Hoefkens and Yellow Gun WR Cowboy. Pietro Tuberga and Domenico Sapino's Katrina Hope Olena (Oaks Lone Pepto x Haida Oleana) placed second (214,5) with Pietro Soragni and his Nash Boogiechairmans (Boogie Boon x Ha Chairmans Comet) following on 3rd place (213,5).

Giovanni Campagnaro and Markus Schöpfer take lead in Open Derby Go round Rein Work
The Rein Work of the Open Derby Go round ended with a tie on first place between Giovanni Campanaro aboard Dual Aristocrat Mr and multiple ERCHA Futurity Champion Markus Schöpfer, who rode HipCat (Metallic Cat x Hip Hip Sue Rey) for Yvonne Bonda each scoring a 217.5. Giovanni Campanaro followed in third place with Shesagenuinelypepto (215.5).

Markus Schöpfer had already ridden HipCat to the ERCHA NRCHA Open Derby

Champion title this spring. "HipCat was incredible again," Markus said. "He is a strong and very consistent horse. I thank Yvonne Bonda for her confidence in my training program and this great stallion. HipCat is a special horse, with great conformation, maneuvers and cow sense. He will definitely be a great sire as well!"

Davide Di Giacinto & Snappy Playboy in front in Ltd. Open Derby Go round

In the Limited Open Derby Go round, Davide Di Giacinto took the lead with Snappy Playboy (ARC Snappy Cutte x Handy Play Antinori) owned by Pamela Palmieri - the score: 212.5. Di Giacinto also rode CD Salvatus Olena for Sofia Boglione to second place (208.5). Very close behind was Richard Forster with Noonecallsmechicken (Yellow Jersey x Chic To A Hen) in 3rd place (208).
