The Americana was honored extensively for its importance at the official opening with plenty of celebrities. Bavaria's Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann appeared professionally dressed as a sheriff - and had the laughs at his side: "I'm happy to be on the road as a sheriff, even though there's actually no Wild West in Bavaria". But he also recalled the great importance of the friendship between the two countries: "In view of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the importance of the good relationship between the USA and Germany once again came to the fore. For the USA was the one who always stood at our side".
US Consul General Meghan Gregonis declared the Americana in Augsburg to be the "biggest ranch in Germany". "The biggest export hit is the American lifestyle. The fascination of the Wild West can also be felt especially in Germany". And she also set her own personal yardstick: "I was born in Philadelphia and studied in New York, so I'm more of a city girl than a cowgirl. But all the more I am impressed by the technique of Western riding, which meets the movements of the horses".
Augsburg's mayor Eva Weber - not really a rider - brought bad experiences to Americana: "I recently took a riding course with my husband on vacation for the first time. And promptly landed painfully on the ground of facts". AFAG managing directors Henning and Thilo Könicke knew how to deal with this bad experience immediately - and invited the mayor to a photo session on horseback immediately after the speeches. Of course, she was visibly pleased not to be deprived of this opportunity. Before the small ride, the mayor knew how to put the importance of the Americana in the right light: "This figurehead of AFAG is also of great importance for the gastronomy, the taxis and the hotels in our region.
Reining national coach Nico Hörmann remembered his victory at the beginning of this millennium at the Bronze Trophy Open on the Americana: "That was a huge milestone for me. Beyond that, however, the Americana is the primary rock of international western equestrian sport. We also owe the recognition of our sport by the FEI to Americana. And Americana continues to have this significance. Nico Hörmann: "There is nowhere better western riding than here!
Ranch Horse Speed Trail is Americana’s latest discipline. In this trail, there are no penalties, but penalty times for the total time in case of mistakes. According to this system: 1 penalty is 5 seconds, a 3 penalty is transmitted in 10 seconds and a 5 penalty means an additional 20 seconds.
Melanie Forster showed the best performance in the Open go round, with a total time of 186 seconds on I Know My Daddy. Simone Fedder stayed seven seconds behind on The Big Lebowski (193). Birgit Buschner finished third on Arias (196). Evelyn Honegger qualified fourth on Spep n Whiz (205) ahead of Lucca-Josephine Hoffmann on Jokers Luna (208), John Royer on Commander Bam Bam Bam (209) and Denise Vlach on The One In Silk (255).
